  • To prove that public libraries contribute economic benefit to the community
  • To provide public library managers with new tools for assessing the performance of their services
  • To up-skill public library managers in the area of advocacy

2. Key Deliverables

  • A comprehensive, authoritative and well-packaged statewide report on the economic benefits to the community of Victorian public libraries.
  • A methodology for measuring the economic benefits of public libraries that can be used at the local level by individual library services.
  • A communication strategy to ensure that the key messages of the statewide report are clearly and powerfully articulated to decision-makers concerned with the funding of public libraries.
  • A suite of high-quality promotional materials linked to the statewide report that public library managers and other champions can use when advocating for public library services to key stakeholders.
  • An education program for public library managers to ensure that they fully comprehend the statewide report and are equipped to deliver its key messages effectively.
